Enjoy, endure, survive each moment as it comes to you in its proper sequence - a surprise. Sometimes you don’t realize until you find yourself in another state, country or continent.
That’s at least what happened to me. My journey led me to the states and I had a wonderful time in the city where Starbucks sold its first cup of freshness. Seattle has my heart and it’s fascinating how fast a place you’ve never been before can be your home so easily. After exciting 10 months I had to say “see ya” to this city. The move was not planned, but you kind of just have to go with the flow.
I found myself in the city of Angels, which honestly seems kind of surreal. Great beaches. Great hikes. Great weather. Not so great city. LA is simply a fake and mostly dirty city. Sure it has its vibe and people are very open minded and creative and it makes it way more easy to be here. But it is what it is – simply a show city. Literally. People give everything up to live here and follow their dreams, but personally I would rather stay somewhere more relaxed and comprehensible.
I have good times though, strolling around Venice beach, chill the day in Malibu or visiting a late night show is not everyone’s dream, but I’m sure there are many people who would love to change places with me. Collecting moments, vibes and acquaintances is important in life and not doing it should embrace an inner fire to do so.
I recently went to a city which I really start to consider living there. I went to San Diego. Again.
Met great people from all around the world, stayed in a shitty hostel but had the time of my life. Normally people are always complaining about something. Their job, their hometown or other people. In San Diego everyone seems so happy and blessed to live there and they cannot imagine living somewhere else. Even when they lived in the most beautiful places. You feel like you are in another country and it’s only a 3 hour bus drive from LA (where, by the way I met the sweetest girl from South Korea – we spent the weekend exploring and chilling in San Diego).
You are either surfer, event manager, DJ, work in a surf shop or Uber driver. It’s a cool city with cool people. (But not the ones who try to be cool, but are just not).
Where else can you be at four weddings within 10 minutes? I guess just San Diego, when you walk around Sunset cliffs. It was very powerful being there with this amazing scenery, enjoying the moment with someone you met 12 hours ago. I would be blessed to going there next, but I also think about all those beautiful places I’ve never been before. Sweden, New Zealand, Africa, Greenland. So much to see.
Anyway you should always keep your head up and enjoy the positive things in your daily being. I don’t know yet where life takes me next, but I know that I live my life here in America to its fullest and I’m looking forward to call a new city my home.
Peace out my friends and remember to enjoy the unexpected.
